CastleSquare is currently seeking highly motivated and experienced individuals to originate preferred equity funding requests with a focus on multifamily acquisitions and recapitalizations. Originators will focus on identifying transactions with a total cost basis greater than $15M and act as a liaison between operators and CastleSquare’s execution team. Positions are based nationally.

The candidate will be an integral part of the growth and development of CastleSquare’s multifamily preferred equity business.

Responsibilities include:

  • Prospect for new owner-operator relationships seeking capital
  • Manage existing owner-operator relationships
  • Source preferred equity and senior debt requests for multifamily recapitalizations and acquisitions
  • Pre-screen transactions prior to the full underwriting and execution
  • Work closely with other members of the firm’s origination and execution teams

CastleSquare is currently seeking highly motivated and experienced individuals to manage, structure, and close funding requests with a focus on preferred equity and senior debt for multifamily acquisitions and recapitalizations. The individual will spearhead financial analysis and underwriting, loan request/investment report packaging, arranging senior debt or preferred equity, and managing the closing process. Positions are based nationally.

Responsibilities include:

  • Organization/Time Management – Plan, schedule, and prioritize workload to best utilize time and efficiently manage daily tasks including research, financial analysis and underwriting, loan packaging, and closing services.
  • Underwriting – Prepare underwriting of commercial real estate properties based on historical financial statements, borrower models or projections, and market standards to determine a projected income and provide reliable valuation and loan analysis.
  • Packaging – Prepare loan request packages in compliance with company guidelines and investor requirements. These reports include narrative analysis of the borrower, property, location, and market, as well as underwriting, valuation, leases/rent roll analysis, and photographs, aerials, and maps.
  • Research – Provide reliable borrower, property, and market-level data by using available third-party and internal resources to conduct research. Research will include but is not limited to ownership records, property transaction history, demographics, and sales and rent comparables.
  • Closing – Submit funding requests and arrange debt or preferred equity quotes. Manage to ensure a smooth process for all parties to the transaction from application through closing. Responsibilities include collecting diligence and maintaining open communication with sponsors, investors and lenders, legal counsels, and internal executive team.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum three years’ experience in Commercial Real Estate and financial analysis background required.
  • Four-year college degree required with a major in real estate, finance, accounting, or business area preferred
  • Strong understanding of cash flow analysis and demonstrated analytical skills with the ability to calculate NOI, DSC, ROC, IRR, etc.
  • Candidate must possess strong written and verbal communication skills – ability to interact effectively and professionally with a wide variety of internal/external parties.
  • Strong Tech knowledge and skills, including in-depth expert knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.)
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask while under pressure and an aptitude for problem-solving
  • Resourceful with a strong initiative and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to work extended hours when necessary
